What is News Home?

News Home is an Android launcher that unites your home screen with breaking news. Our launcher puts the latest local and national news within the swipe of a finger. News Home also provides you easy access icons for breaking news from your favorite topics and sources.   

Why Did my Home Screen Change?

News Home replaces your existing home screen with a sleek and uncluttered experience that’s geared towards people who want easy access to breaking local and national news. You’ll still have easy access to your existing library of apps with a simple swipe up from the bottom of your home screen.

Can I Import My Existing Icons to News Home?

This feature is a work in progress and is already made available on certain devices. We’re working hard to ensure we constantly deliver features that make your News Home experience fast and smooth.

I don’t want notifications from News Home.

News Home is an Android Launcher app that brings together your home screen and easy access to breaking local and national news. Any notifications you receive are from News Home are breaking local and national news articles. Clicking a notification will take you to a preview of that breaking news article.

If you wish to limit these notifications, please go to your phone’s Settings and select System > Apps > News Home > Notifications > and toggle your preferences.

How Do I Go Back To my Default Home Screen?

We hate to see you go!

To switch to a new home screen launcher, navigate to your app drawer and click the News Home Settings icon. Then click the “Switch Default Home App” button. From the next screen you will have the option to select a different home screen launcher.

If the version of News Home you’re currently using doesn’t have this option, you may also go to Settings > System Settings > Apps > News Home App > Home Screen> Select your new home screen launcher.

If the version of News Home you’re currently using doesn’t have this option, To change your default home screen back to your phone’s original experience, please visit your Settings app and select Settings > Default Home screen and then change your selection.

If you have difficulty with either of these menus on your device, you can always visit the News Home listing in the Google Play Store and click on the green “Uninstall” button.

How Do I Uninstall?

To uninstall News Home, navigate to your app drawer and click the News Home Settings icon. Then click the “Uninstall” button. Then click “confirm” to uninstall. If you have other home screen launchers installed, you will then have the option to select a different home screen launcher. If you do not have other home screen launchers installed, you will be returned directly to your native home screen launcher.

If the version of News Home you’re currently using doesn’t have this option, navigate to your phone’s settings by going to Settings – Apps. Select News Home, tap ‘Home Screen/App’, and deselect News Home. With that done, return to the News Home settings screen, and tap Uninstall

If you have difficulty with either of these other option, you can always visit the News Home listing in the Google Play Store and click on the green “Uninstall” button.

How do I cancel my subscription? I would like to unsubscribe from my paid News Home subscription.

If you no longer wish to use News Home’s Premium Features with your monthly or yearly subscription you may cancel it through the Google Play Store. Simply launch the Google Play app and find your ‘Payments & Subscriptions’ settings by clicking your avatar in the top right corner to reveal the drop-down menu. I would like a refund for my Premium subscription.

We apologize if you aren’t completely satisfied with your Premium Subscription experience.

In order to receive a refund please send an email to support@newshomeapp.com letting us know the email address you used to subscribe. Once we have received this we will be able to cancel your subscription and refund your payment. We will respond with a confirmation once this has been completed.
